Our Story
Timeless is a limited company incorporated in 2007. The shareholders are Manlafi Touray
and his sister Binta Touray. Manlafi is the CEO and Binta is the Company Secretary.
Timeless was formed in 2007 when Manlafi returned from the UK.
Timeless has been operating in the hospitality business in The Gambia since 2007 when we
opened Timeless Restaurant at Brusubi
Our customers are a good mix of tourists and local residents with a good proportion of
Gambians. Our business operates throughout the year which enables us to grow our local
resident customer base and offer continuous employment to our staff.
In 2007 we employed up to 30 staff and in 2019 that figure was closer to 120 and will
expanded to nearly 250 when our current sites are fully operational. During the Covid
period our businesses were open but operating on minimum staff.
In 2016 we opened our Hospitality school and have offered free scholarships to over 100
students a year with over 175 students graduated in the last three years. The programme
started in 2020 for another 100 students.
For the last 11 years we have acted as the Gambia representative with the Gambia Up
Country Development Charity which built and ran a school in Kanubeh. The school has now
been handed over to the Education department for development after providing nursery
level education to a village that previously had no school.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This is an overview of the portfolio of Timeless Company Ltd located in The Gambia, West
Africa. We operate primarily in the hospitality industry located in the main tourist areas.
Timeless has been operating in the hospitality business in The Gambia since 2007 and has
grown from one restaurant to a sizable and well known Group with a good reputation for
food and entertainment. In 2024, we have four restaurants, a Night Club, a forex bureau in
Senegambia and a gym.
MISSION STATEMENT
Timeless aims to deliver a quality and affordable restaurant service primarily to Gambians
and to extend this service to other areas as appropriate. We also aim to support (financially
and in terms of exposure) and promote cultural music and arts with a particular interest in
local musicians to provide live music to our customers.
We place a high value on our social responsibility and obligations whether that be providing
scholarships within our hospitality school or within the business where we train young
people to provide as much employment as possible. We will always be a fair and supportive
employer – we believe a happy staff provide the quality service we pride ourselves in.
At the core of our service is the goal of using local suppliers and service providers to ensure
as much finance as possible remains in the Gambia.
We ensure all our outlets are run to a very high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. All our
staff receive regular hygiene training based on the GTB Hygiene Inspections held at our sites
in tourist areas supplemented with our own high standard of cleanliness. Our sites often
attract generous comments about cleanliness and service alongside the excellent food.
A Combined Wealth of Hospitality Experience
MANAGEMENT AND ORGANISATION
Timeless owners, Manlafi Touray and Binta Touray are active in the management of the
business in the roles of CEO and Company Secretary. Binta is also the Restaurant Manager
for Sofa Nyama.
Our senior staff have been with us for many years providing the stable basis for the business
to flourish their relevant experience is shown below.
Manlafi Touray: After leaving school worked in the hotel business in The Gambia at Atlantic
and Kairaba Hotels. He set up a tourist guide business which he ran until he went to the UK
to study in 1996. After studying for a Law Degree at London Guildhall University he
returned to the Gambia in 2007 to set up Timeless.
Binta Touray: Has worked in the hospitality business for over 30 years in establishments
such as Ambasadors Bar, Nakatalty and Joko Entertainment Centre. Since 2007 she has been
Restaurant Manager for many of the Timeless outlets and is now running Sofa Nyama in
Senegambia.
Controller and cashier team:
These are our main staff who train our cashiers and ensure the Timeless controls are
followed.
Bakary Samateh, Baboucarr Sowe: Have been with Timeless for over 4 years and have been
trained by us in Controlling and cashiering and our now our senior staff. They are based at
New Wild Monkey.
